Automatic Drain Valve Cost Saving Calculator
Automatic drain valves remove sludge and liquid from compressed air systems. Automatic drain valves should be installed at each liquid collection point in a compressed air system, including:
Aftercooler/Separators
Air receivers
Coalescers (pre-filter)
Refrigerated dryer blow-down
Drip legs
Use our automatic drain valve cost saving calculator to see how much an automatic drain valve could save you a year.
Removing water and sludge with an automatic drain valve helps your compressed air system run more efficiently reducing your utility cost.
Air System Products, Inc. (ASP) Automatic Drain Valves
Sure-Drain
The Sure-Drain is an optimized ball valve. Ball valves reliably drain unwanted accumulations from air systems. The straight through flow and positive closing action delivers trouble-free operation. The Sure-Drain uses a small coupling to connect the ball valve to the gear motor eliminating any small misalignments and reducing the risk of premature ball valve failure. Drain cycles can be set between 1 and 50 minutes. The valve opens for 5 seconds each cycle. Timing is controlled via a simple programmable solid state timing control accessible from the outside. To see how much you could save a year with an automatic drain valve use our Automatic drain valve cost saving calculator.
Features
External controls (1 50 minute cycle adjustability)
600 psig maximum working pressure, no minimum required
Sizes: ¼, ½, Ύ, 1
Construction: Bronze with stainless steel ball and stem (optional stainless steel body available)
Reinforced TFE seats and seals
Non-corrosive NEMA 4 enclosure
Universal mounting position
Solid state timer
Electrical: standard 115V, 60 Hz
Approximate weight: 6 lbs
Posi-Drain
Air Systems Products Posi-Drain drains water, oil sludge, and scale from filters, air receivers, dryers, separators, aftercoolers, and other compressed air system equipment. The Posi-Drain works dependably in heavy contaminant applications such as compressed air condensate draining because of its self-cleaning valve and straight through flow design. To see how much you could save a year with an automatic drain valve use our Automatic drain valve cost saving calculator.
Self Cleaning Action - Each time the plunger moves up and down the face of the valve seat is wiped clean by the seal disc.
Straight Through Design - When the solenoid is energized, the plunger and seal are lifted so that the condensate flows straight through. Other solenoid valve designs force contaminants to travel in a dirt catching S shaped flow.
Features
Adjustable drain cycle: 5 seconds to 50 minutes. Valve open period: 1 to 15 seconds
Indicator lights for power on and valve open
200 psig ½ non-clogging straight through flow valve
NEMA 4 enclosure (6x 3x 3)
Multi-valve capability, operate up to four valves at once
Electrical: standard 11 OV (other voltages available) with 8 grounded electrical cord with plug
Robo Drain
The PPC Robo Drain is a state-of-the-art demand operated drain. Low pressure and high pressure Robo Drains are available. The unit is fully automated. Pneumatic power is used eliminating the need for electricity. The Robo Drain uses magnetic force to ensure a positive opening and closing action. The Robo Drains unique design places the magnetic force out of range of contaminant to stop metal particles from being attracted to the magnets. Additionally, its ball valve positioning and support prevents side-loading. To see how much you could save a year with an automatic drain valve use our Automatic drain valve cost saving calculator.

Electronic Valve Timer/Drain
Air System Products' Electronic Valve Timer/Drain (EVT) is a low cost alternative to float type valves. Float type valves clog up and leak in compressed air system applications. The EVT is compact and lightweight allowing it to be installed directly on drain points: filters, separators, etc. To see how much you could save a year with an automatic drain valve use our Automatic drain valve cost saving calculator.

Automatic Drain Valve Cost Saving Calculator
An automatic drain valve can save you thousands of dollars a year by reducing the amount of compressed air used to purge liquid condensate from your compressed air system.
The calculator figures how much it costs a year to have an open bleed valve. Choose the size bleed valve you have in your system and enter your utility cost per kW-Hr. The result is how much your bleed valve costs you a year and therefore how much you could save a year by installing an automatic drain valve(s).
