Double Planetary Mixers Ross has been the innovator and leader in Double Planetary Mixer design for 50 years. Well suited for mixing high viscosity materials, Double Planetary Mixers can be optimized for operation in many industries.  In a Ross Double Planetary Mixer, two planetary blades rotate on their own axes, while they orbit the mix vessel on a common axis. The blades continuously advance along the periphery of the vessel, removing material from the vessel wall and transporting it to the interior.In only 36 revolutions, the Double Planetary Mixer's blades have touched virtually the entire batch. It only takes a few minutes for the blades to completely mix a batch and by preventing a layer from forming on the periphery, the blades ensure efficient transfer throughout the batch.
