Tuthill 4000 Series Process Pumps
4000 Series process pumps incorporate an internal gear pump design. The design has only two moving parts. Moving parts are hardest hit by abrasive and heat wear, so having fewer moving parts increases the reliability of the 4000 Series. Features of 4000 Series gear pumps include:
- Economically priced
- Positive displacement internal gear construction
- Accurate repeatable flow characteristics
- Reliable performance
- Special materials of construction permit handling many different fluid types
- Less downtime and maintenance
The Series 4000's pumping action comes from a rotor, idler gear, and crescent-shaped partition. A partial vacuum is formed when the pump starts and the rotor teeth begin to turn. The fluid fills the space between the idler gear's teeth and the rotor's teeth. The fluid passes around the crescent. On the pressure side, the force of the teeth meshing discharges the liquid. 4000 Series pumps can pump nearly any fluid including:
